Customer Reviews:

Amazing shoe, disappointing wear and tear Jul 24, 2010

I love this shoe; It is the most comfortable shoe I own and I love working out in them. These shoes saved me from very painful shin splints that I would often get from previous shoes. When I first bought them, I did not have any pain from breaking them in for a few weeks, but then a couple of my toes got calluses that were a little painful at first, but went away the more I used the shoes. The only disappointing factor about these shoes is they were weak in the construction area. The heel on the inside of the shoe got torn up within 2 months of ownership, and the left side of the opening lip of the shoe got torn within the first 6 weeks of ownership. frustrated with their short life after being told they would last around 8 months, I took it back to the store and I am very happy to say they made an exchange! I am hoping the last pair was just a fluke and this new pair will stay together longer. I am still in love with these shoes and highly recommend these--but be aware of any signs of damage/wear and tear early on and return them immediately if noticed!

disappointed Feb 02, 2010

i was very excited to get this shoe. I used to be a big asics fan, but i noticed that the shoes lasted me only one marathon training and one marathon's worth, so i switched to adidas bostons. Started having heel pain during training for my recent marathon and decided to go back to Kyanos as they have better cushion. Training went ok, but in my left shoe something happened to the padding and a ridge formed with time right under my metatarsal heads...which happened to some of my previous acics shoes. It really bugged me during the marathon....to the point where I wanted to take off my shoes and run barefoot...so I am going back to adidas...

I have had 14's, 15's and now the 16's which are going back! Jan 28, 2010

I am training for a spring marathon and I found my 14's to be to stiff. I went with the 16's per the sports store person! After one long run of 12 miles I developed swelling on the top of my foot where the laces are tied. Be careful of the new design of how the laces go accross your foot and make sure not to tie them up high or even a little tight.

I would not buy these for long distance running!!

Great shoes! Dec 12, 2009

I bought these last minute to run a 5K. They fit perfectly, even with my custom orthotics(I had to pull out the original lining). I would definitely purchase these again.

Skip the 15's, go for the 16's! Nov 30, 2009

I loved my Kayano 14s, so when it was time to buy new shoes, I hit the internet for a second pair. Unfortunately, they quit making them. I decided to order a pair of the 15s, but I was disappointed. They felt very different from the 14s, and not only caused a lot of foot and ankle pain, they also made my lower back hurt. I sent them back and went to my local running store where I was introduced to the 16s. According to the store, there was a pretty quick turn around between the 15s and 16s. I feel the 16s compare much better to the 14s. My first time out in them, I was able to go 9 miles with very little toe-rubbing/breaking-in issues.

Long story short, if you are looking to replace your 14s, skip the 15s, and try the 16s. They're a much better transition for us flat-footed and moderate pronators!
