Fantastic!! Second DVD pays acoustic guitar solo tribute to Syd Barrett's: " Dark Globe". Better than Syds performance. The concert is real and from the heart with excellent sound, picture quality and camera shots.

Echoes...Echoes...Echoes May 29, 2010

I have every Pink Floyd and Roger Waters Video that have been released. When I bought this DVD I didn't know what to expect...let me tell you, it blew me away. First of all I don't have any Solo David Gilmoure CD's, so when he played the ENTIRE "On an Island" CD Live, I was Captivated even though I had never heard any of the songs (Of course I was thinking to myself, "Get back to the Pink Floyd"). Either way it was very "Floydish" and I'm sure after I watch it a few more times I will love those songs just as I do everything else that he/they have done. Although Echoes was PHENOMINAL!!!!! I didn't think it would be possible to do that song live, but they do it to the tee. That alone is worth buying this Video. I watched it 3 times in a row after the video ended. WOW!!!!!!

Junk Apr 08, 2010

I just got my DVD in today and I tried to watch it but there seems to be nothing on both discs, I have tried it in my DVD player and my computer, nothing is on both discs, nothing will load, I got robbed.
If there were something on both discs, i'd give it a high rating, but for now, all i'll give is one star.

Great performance, not impressive sounding. Apr 06, 2010

I have listened to a few Blu-ray music performances and I will say that this one lacks "sound quality". I got Led Zeppelin's The Song Remains the Same and it sounds like nothing I had ever heard before. It was like they were playing "live" in my living room. There was so much depth in the sound that it blew away anything I had heard before on CD or Vinyl. Now after saying that the Performance is great, and it does sound great, I have even heard the DVD and the Blu-Ray does sound better but it seems to lack depth in the mix. I do not believe this is a "Blu-Ray" flaw but probably the original master tapes taken from this performance are not the best sounding.

And Time from Dark Side of the Moon performance was ruined by the bass play playing the ticking clock too fast on bass making the intro rushed and almost unlistenable.

It is a great buy and I will play this many times but I cannot play this for people to show audio superiority of Blu-ray.

This is why I am giving it 4 stars.

i love everything David Gilmour Mar 12, 2010

I now have everything he's done !
And I'm really glad he won the lawsuit just finished.
This concert was rather gentler than the Pulse tour concert with more
personal footage and out-takes. The material was a mix of the old and the new
and its really a blast to see half of the Floyd and 2/3 Roxy playing together.
The singing is getting a little less piowerful - I mean the man is in his
60's now; but he's still quite wonderful.
It also makes you curious as to what else he has lying around in that studio of his.
Its a shame Richard Wright is gone - it will never be quite the same if he's
not there. Whatever though - I will always want more: the man is inspired!!!!
