Rockport Men's world Tour Elite Encounter Walking shoe

I bought these shoes because I spend so many hours a day walking on concrete floors in my work place. Very dissapointed. One shoe, the right one gives me great support and I can walk in comfort all day. Problem is, I have two feet. The left shoe feels as though it has nothing in common with the right shoe. The inner sole feels as though it has lumps, and when I walk these lumps press on the sole of my foot and cause great discomfort. More often than not I walk with a limp caused by this shoe. When I visually examine the shoe within and without there is no visible evidence of any lump or any other type abnormality in regard to the construction of this shoe. Nvertheless, I cannot and will not tolerate the discomfort caused by this shoe. I would definitely not buy another shoe made by Rockport. Ever!

Meanwhile another online company had a sale for Hush Puppies and I bought a pair and wore them into work thinking they couldn't possibly hold up to all the walking I do on the aforementioned concrete floors. Wrong! These shoes are 100% more supportive than the Rockports and I will buy another pair but a different color of the Hush Puppies and only 1/3 the price.

excellent walking shoes

i have flat feet and i can only wear really good shoes that support my feet. the elite encounter walking shoe provides great support and is a great walking shoe.i will buy another pair when this pair wears out. excellent shoe purchase.

I liked them.

I was looking for a good comfortable walking shoe for vacation. I also wanted them to look good for casual & be OK for wearing when dressing up a little to go out to a good restaurant. These shoes filled the bill on both accounts. Very comfortable on long walks during day & looked good when wearing with sport coat and slacks. Very happy with them!

Solid shoe

Rockport makes an excellent shoe and now they dont cause your feet to sweat as much as in years past. This shoe looks like a mailman's shoe but isnt quite as comfortable as a mailman shoe.

rugged casual oxford

Simple, classic casual oxford. If you need a shoe that comes in wide widths (as I do), you already know your choices are limited--this is a great option. Very comfortable for long days on your feet, and need no break-in. They clean up easily, too. They look great with jeans/chinos, and passable with dressier slacks. I've had mine a few months and wear them 4-5 times a week. They look almost new, and the soles have no visible wear. These are not "hikers", so I would not wear them on extreme trails or where deep tread is desired, but for walking on nearly anything else, they are great. Wish they came in black.
