Customer Reviews:

Definitely happy with my purchase even though... Aug 22, 2010

Just purchased this belt as I am training for my first marathon. I run in a running group and others have the Fuel Belt, which seemed good too, but after reading reviews, the Nathan belt seemed to be the better choice due to the larger velcro pouch and seemed to have less bounce. I wore it yesterday for am 18 miler and was so glad to have it with me! We set out coolers throughout our route so though I filled the bottles before I left (actually froze them - one with gatorade and the other with water), I was refilling at all water stops. It was so nice to reach back and get a drink any time during the run. I will say that many said they liked this belt because you could pull the bottle with one hand. I noticed that I almost had to hold the back of the belt down while I pulled the bottle up and out. Not a pain though. I also noticed that I had to keep it tight (I bought a small - I'm 5'10 female at 125 lbs) throughout the run and it had to sit in just the right place to not bounce. Too low and it would bounce. So the right positioning put the pouch at the small of my back.

I was curious to see if after the run I'd have some chafing and nothing! I was thrilled. Then I realized when I got in the car to go home that the small of my back felt bruised as did my two hip bones where the belt was. But honestly, I'll take that over chafing any day.

Overall, very happy with the belt and happy I got the two bottle. 4 bottles would keep me from stopping to refill but I could tell from the run yesterday that any bottles in the front would get in the way.

I recommend you try it out...doubt you'll be disappointed.

All you need. I love this energy belt! Aug 22, 2010

Securely holds mobile phone, keys, gels, bank card, ID & 20oz worth of water and/or electrolytes

Strong, generously adjustable Velcro connection.

Stretchable belt that fits firmly enough not to bounce, but not so tightly that it impairs breathing in any way.

Very lightweight.

I take it with me for any run over eight miles.

CONS
It's way overpriced for two 99-cent bottles and an 8-dollar belt, but Amazon offers it for the most reasonable price I've found. So, either sew one yourself or bend over and take it.

No leaky cap issues for me. The lids simply need to be tightened very well... really. I just turn mine upside down & squeeze before running so I can adjust. If you fill the bottles with fizzy water, the pressure may cause forced leaking, so let it fizz-out a bit before capping. Simple. This is a well-made product.

GET THIS BELT! Aug 19, 2010

I am currently trainng for my first marathon, and when I got into the longer runs, over 6-7 miles, I started carrying water with me. Initially I just grabbed a water bottle and carried it with me in my hand and I hated it. I then tried a hand held with the strap, and I still hated it. I wish I would have just bought this from the beginning. I love it! I can have my hands free and still have fuel/water for long runs. I can easily carry 3-4 packs of Gu, my keys, etc in the pocket and the bottles are great, no bouncing as long as you wear it tight enough on your hips. It does ride up from my hips on occasion, depending on the material of the running clothes I am wearing, but usually not a big problem. I don't notice I am wearing it, and it makes a world of difference. I simply cannot complete long runs in the summer without water and Gu, and this is the best way I have found to carry it. The only thing I am wishing is that now I am doing runs 16-20 miles, is that I had the 4 bottle one, but that would probably be too much on most runs, but still considering ordering it as well. Love, love, love it.

Bottles Leak!! Aug 02, 2010

If you like leaky bottles then buy these because they will do the job. The bottles were designed by a group of clueless monkeys. Other than this major flaw, the belt is great and works well.

P.S. If you like to keep the liquid inside the bottle, use white teflon tape on the threads to prevent the leaks.

I wear it in front.. Aug 02, 2010

Not sure how it's supposed to be worn, but I wear it with the bottles and pouch in the front. Works well for me on up to 12 mile runs - then I start getting thirsty. Of course, that could be because it's 95 every day here in Austin lately. The pouch easily holds 5 gels + my Sprint Evo - plenty for a mid-range run. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars vs 5 is because according to their size chart I should be a large - but the large seems a bit too big on me and the velcro is almost gone ... once I lose another 5 pounds, i'll have to get a smaller one.
